The reassuring part first
Students applying to Türkiye with a genuine acceptance letter and a properly prepared file are not, in our experience, routinely refused. The student route is not the hard route.
What gets refused is a file — not a person. And a file is something you control.
What actually goes wrong
Financial evidence that does not hold up.
The most common problem by a distance. A statement showing a large sum that arrived a week ago, from nowhere, invites the obvious question. Consular officers look at how money behaved over time, not just the closing balance. Money that has been there for months, with an explainable source, is worth more than a bigger number that appeared on Tuesday.
Documents that do not agree with each other.
Your name on your passport, your WAEC result, your acceptance letter and your bank statement must match — including middle names, spelling and order. A file where one document says Muhammad and another says Mohammed creates doubt that nothing else in the application can undo.
A story that does not fit.
Why this course, why this university, why Türkiye, and what happens after. An application that cannot answer these coherently reads as a route rather than a plan.
Missing or expired paperwork.
A passport with under six months left. An acceptance letter for the wrong intake. An unsigned form. Small, avoidable, fatal.
A document that is not real.
This is the one that ends everything. A forged statement or altered result does not just fail — it can carry a ban that follows you to every other country. Orbuni will stop work immediately if we find one, and we would rather lose your business than send it.
What a well-prepared file looks like
- Every name identical across every document
- Financial evidence with history, and a sponsor who can be explained
- Acceptance letter for the correct programme and the correct intake
- A passport valid well beyond your intended stay
- Translations and notarisation done properly, not photographed on a phone
- Answers you can give calmly because they are true
If you are refused
A refusal is not the end and it is not a verdict on you. Read the reason given. Most are specific and most are fixable — a fresh application with the gap closed often succeeds where the first did not.
What does not work is reapplying immediately with the same file, or paying somebody who promises to "handle" the consulate. Nobody can. The decision belongs to the consulate, and any agency claiming influence over it is lying to you. We say the same in our terms.
Our part
We prepare the file, check every document against every other document, and tell you when something will not survive scrutiny — including when the honest answer is that you are not ready this intake. We do not decide the outcome, and we will never pretend we can.
